We hear pregnant pop star Christina Aguilera is going to be performing at this years Emmys on September 16th.

Aguilera will join Tony Bennett for a duet of “Steppin’ Out with My Baby.” The duo first sang the classic in November on the NBC special Tony Bennett: An American Classic.

Reps for Aguilera and the Emmys said they could not confirm Aguilera’s performance at the awards show, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a press release on that soon.

Christina Aguilera claims she and husband Jordan Bratman share the pants in their relationship.

The couple - who are said to be expecting their first child - have been married for a year-and-a-half and Christina says they are still “blessed out”.

The 26-year-old singer revealed to InStyle magazine: “Nobody wears both legs of the pants - we both take a leg.

“When I first met Jordan, one of the things I loved was that on my worst days, he’d walk into a room and make me smile. He’s one of those people who is soothing.”

And the ‘Dirrty’ singer insists she feels no need to tone down her sexy image now she is a married woman and mother-to-be.

Christina said: “Even when I feel an outfit’s too revealing, Jordan just says, ‘What? You have the body, go ahead!’ He knows it’s all part of my self-expression. I couldn’t really ask for a more supportive husband.

“My sexuality will never die, just take on a different form.

“Just because I may be in love or in a one-man relationship does not mean that I would ever tone it down - that would be conforming.”

In a recent interview with In Style magazine, Christina admitted that she has been able to keep up her racy dressing standards because of her husband.

Aguilera, who is rumored to be pregnant, confessed that her husband Jordan Bratman encourages her to show off her body.

“When I feel an outfit’s too revealing, he just says, ‘You have the body, go ahead!’” the Mirror quoted her, as telling the mag.

“I couldn’t really ask for a more supportive husband,” she added.

US consumer-goods giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) is to put a major investment behind its first fragrance for American singer Christina Aguilera, with whom it signed a licensing agreement in January this year. The fragrance, called simply Christina Aguilera, will launch globally in the fall.

“This is a big priority for us, our objective is for Christina Aguilera to become the number-one celebrity fragrance… We will invest very strongly behind it,” a P&G spokesperson tells CosmeticNews.

Targeting the 16-35-year-old consumer, the fragrance is an oriental floral with top notes of blackcurrant, a heart of peony and prune and a base of vanilla. It comes in a curvy glass bottle, intended to recall the star’s silhouette, and is embossed with a black lacy design and decorated with a black bow at the neck.

The fragrance will be supported by a print ad campaign featuring Aguilera’s bare back painted with a black lace design. It features the tagline, “Sometimes it’s all you need to wear”.

Christina is back home and seems to be feeling a lot better. Her and hubby Jordan were spotted grocery shopping at a couple of supermarkets in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon. Don’t hide the baby bump!

Angry fans vowed never to listen to Christina Aguilera’s music again after she cancelled her two New Zealand concerts.

At 4.30pm yesterday, hours before the first was supposed to start, Aguilera, thought to be four months pregnant, announced she was recovering from a virus and would not be performing at Auckland’s Vector Arena. Tonight’s concert was cancelled soon after. She cancelled two Melbourne shows this week.

In apologising for the cancellations, Aguilera appeared to have forgotten that she came to Auckland - and visited Rangitoto College - in 2000 during a promotional tour.

“I would like to apologise once again to all of my fans here in New Zealand for having to cancel my last two shows of my tour. This is my first time in your beautiful country and I have really been looking forward to performing for you all.

“Unfortunately, I caught a bad flu virus and I have not been able to recover in time. Thank you all for your continued love and support and I can’t wait for the next time. With love, Christina.”

Katelyn Pattullo, 13, and her mother Linda flew to Auckland from Christchurch especially for last night’s concert.

“We think that it’s awful. She could have told us 48 hours before. We spent loads of money to get here,” Katelyn said.

“I’m just going to ignore her or turn her off when she comes on the television. I’m so annoyed.”

Christina Aguilera has cancelled her remaining two Melbourne concerts because of illness.

Promoter Michael Gudinski of the Frontier Touring Company said a viral upper respiratory tract infection forced Aguilera to cancel the concerts.

Aguilera had postponed yesterday’s concert until tonight, citing a slight fever.

She was to have had another show tomorrow night.

“Doctors have confirmed Christina has a viral upper respiratory tract infection with a high fever and abnormal coughing,” Gudinski said in a statement.

“They have prescribed complete bed rest for the next few days.”

In the same statement, Aguilera apologised to her fans.

“Unfortunately, I have fallen ill with a bad flu virus. This is one of the best cities in the world to perform in and I am truly disappointed that I won’t be able to share my show with you all,” she said.

“Thank you for all of the continued love and support and I hope to perform for you all again next time.”

Gudinski said Aguilera was “understandably distressed” for fans who bought tickets, and promised refunds from their original point of purchase.
